WHY USPALLATA

There are those who maintain that the name of Uspallata comes from the Quechua language, and its meaning would be «throat» or «preferred step». Others affirm that it comes from the Mapuche language derived from auv-paylla-tha, a term that would mean «side that appears and runs calmly».
